My work keyboard in the afternoon went crazy

basically the £ sign was replaced with #...

How is that and how do i rectify that?

It could be your keyboard settings in Windows - go to the control panel and check your keyboard settings are set to "UK". I don't have XP any more so I can't remember where it is, but it is in there somewhere :D

il check when at work tomorrow

It was working fine then all of a sudden changed towards the end of my shift
