Keyboard and Mouse Selection

I am running XP Home with SP 2 and have a wireless keyboard and mouse. Most
things seem to be OK but I cannot use the keyboard and mouse functions (ie If
I am selecting files from a directory I cannot select one file, hold the
contol key and then use the mosuse to select other files in the open
directory). All that happens once I press the control key is that the mouse
cursor freezes and will only move again when I release the control key.

Does anyone have any ideas - my trawl through various postings and the
Windows Help feature has drawn a blank?

Hi Will,

I used the 'Ctrl' key as an example but the use of the 'Shift' key results
in the same problem - ie the mouse cursor locks until the Shift key is
released.

I'd check that you have the latest driver/software from the keyboard/mouse
manufacturer. Use the synch or connect buttons on both devices to ensure
they're on separate channels. If the keyboard setup offers a "secure"
connection, use that to helpsegregate keyboard signals from the rodent's.

You might try plugging in a standard keyboard, test if the situation
persists.
