My windows XP laptop keeps rebooting even in save mode. It does not
get to the logon screen. I have important files and I do not want to
lose these files. Any suggestions.
If your laptop continually reboots without even getting to the login
screen, you may be experiencing hardware failure. Retrieve the data by
doing the following and then contact the laptop mftr. for
repair/replacement or take it to a professional computer repair shop
for diagnosis.
Retrieve the data by pulling the drive and slaving it in a computer
running a working install of XP. You will need a drive adapter; i.e.,
laptop-to-IDE/SATA or a usb drive enclosure.
If you don't have the skill and/or equipment to do these procedures and
the data is crucial, take the machine to a professional computer repair
shop that has experience in doing data recovery. This will not be your
local version of BigStoreUSA. The professional can also show you how to
back up your data to prevent future crises.
