Keeps freezing

My computer keeps freezing. It will freeze on the start-up, on the user-login, just trying to load personal settings, when tring to download anything, and when trying to save.

My computer is
Intel(R
Pentium(R) 4 CPU 2.26GH
2.28 GH
256 MB of RA

I have had my computer it for about 2-3 months, and it started about a month ago. I didn't download anything, it just startet automatically. I have disk defragmented it, scanned it for viruses, and used ad-aware

It is really annoying, please responed, even if you have just experinced it.

Hey Buddy! I am having the same problem here with my HP
P3 1.92 GHz 264MB/RAM. And I have Windows XP too. This is
a simple problem that should have been handled better
with MS than chatting here to find an answer from a NON-
professional like us! However, if I remember that Windows
98 had a troubleshooting section that had some answers
about this. If I remembered right...it had to do with how
powerful or the speed of the computer. With too much RAM
and stuff...it could have done some miscommunication or
lack of reading when you want to do something. In other
words, some programs may be too slow for high speed such
as 1.5 Ghz or over. Plus, I remember there was a way to
fix it by pressing the control button and something else.
I don't know? To me...it's BS! Because this should NEVER
happened in the first place!
