Keeping Properties after compacting

Q

qdimples

I created a vbscript to compare to databases. what i'm comparing is the title
of the database. if you right click on a database and click properties you
can see the title under the summary tab. well everytime the database is
compacted the properties summary information is deleted. how can i keep the
title name under the summary tab from not being deleted when the database
compacts?

Thanks

I just tested in both Access 2003 and Access 97, and the Title property was
unchanged on the summary tab.

How exactly is your VBScript reading that property?

Douglas, it does happen. create a database, close it, then right click on it,
click the properties and then under summary type something in the title box.
then go back and open the database and compact it. when you go back to the
properties the title box will be blank.

I'm afraid that since I cannot reproduce the problem, I cannot help you.

What version of Access are you using? (and you still haven't shown the
VBScript that you're using, as I asked)
