Keeping desktop placement locked in place

Hi all,

I have an annoying problem. I have many icons scattered over my desktop
which I place strategically where I can easily find them.

Every so often, something happens where the items get rearranged and placed
in the standard columns on the left. All the items are still there, but not
in the location I want them to be. It then takes me about 15 minutes to move
them to where I like to see them.

I am running XP Pro on a SBS2003 domain. The desktop and documents are
redirected to a drive on the server.

So I was wondering if there is a way to lock the items on the desktop to
their particular location.

I know this is an inconvenience more than a problem, but it has been bugging
me for a long time.

thanks

Nate
