DESKTOP FILES

I am having a problem with the arrangment of my desktop
files and icons being rearranged without my doing. I
have tried arranging them and then right clicking on
desktop>select properties>desktop>customize
desktop>web>Lock desktop items. But they still get
rearranged for some reason. It seems to happen most when
I restart or add an icon or file to the desktop. I only
have about twenty items on the desktop so it is not due
to over crowding.

Right-click empty space on desktop and select "Arrange Icons By" then
deactivate the "Auto Arrange".
That should work. Your custom desktop icons arrangement will be saved an
reloaded between log/boot.
But occasionaly, windows tends to reset the already arranged desktop
icons, especially after working for some time.
I don't know why it does that. It may have something to do with system
icon cache.
