Keep getting this HXDL ERROR Report

Help,,, I keep getting a "HXDL Error Report" window open
up everytime i'm on line. What is this and is there
anyway of fixing this problem? Also,I have read that
when one downloads the "SP1A Service Pack" to update XP,
at times it does more harm than good! Whats the scoop on
this and should i download it or not? Thanks in advance
for any and all help on these two issues!
