Keep getting enter password when opening Outlook 2002

New computer with Vista installed and Outlook 2002. Every time I open
Outlook I get the entre password screen and it fails to open mail. Then I
click send and receive and it works. How can I stop this from happening.
 
You can't; Outlook 2002/XP isn't supported to run on Windows Vista. Only
Outlook 2003 and 2007 are supported.

Robert's response was correct. Outlook 2002 stored the password information
in what is now a truly protected area of the Operating System. As long as
you keep Outlook open, you don't need to enter the information. Some folks
have resorted to leaving their computer on 24/7. Or at least from the first
time you access your e-mail until you retire for the night...
