Keep cursor at same point in cell when switching between workbooks

Hello

I'm using Excel 2007, and am entering text data (address details) in cells.
The info I need to enter is on another workbook, so I am using ALT-TAB to
move betwen the two. Yesterday when I was doing this, each time I switched
back to the workbook I'm entering, the cursor was in the same place in the
cell where it had been when I switched away. So I could just start entering
more text in the cell where I had left off.

But today, if I switch away halfway through entering text, when I switch
back, I have to click the mouse in the cell to get the text to keep entering
where I want it, otherwise it just deletes what I'd previously entered and
starts at the beginning of the cell again.

Any help greatly appreciated.

I've discovered if you hit F2 you can edit the cell, however, I'd still like
to know why it was letting me do it automatically yesterday.

Hi,

Hate to say, but it works for me sometimes and not others, can't seem to id
any reason. However, you can press F2 to return to the edit mode, fi that
helps.
