KB928388 (DST fix)

D

DPM

Well, I finally figured out that if I rename the .img file to .iso Nero will
burn it. Geez.

I extracted WindowsXP-KB928388-x86-enu.exe and tried to run it on my target.
It reports that my target's Service Pack is less than SP1. How is this
possible? What do I need to do to fix it?

Second question: I'd like to just apply KB928388 (only) to my component
database, but I can only find a December 2006 rollup. If I invoke the
rollup, will it give me a chance to select which KBs to apply, or will it
automatically apply all KBs it contains?

Any help/advice is appreciated.

Thanks,
Dean

IIRC, there was a bug in SP1 times where the versioning registry entries weren't properly set up on XPe images (fixed in SP2).
You may want to check and if necessary fix it manually:
[HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Windows],"CSDVersion"

KM,

Thanks - that fixed it.

BTW, when I checked a SP2 machine CSDVersion has the value 0x00000200; I set
my SP1 machine to that value and the update worked. What should it be for
SP1; 0x00000100?

Thanks,
Dean

Dean,

I don't remember exactly but I think SP1 value is 0x00000100.
