KB891861

I've tried to slipstream the Post-SP4 security rollup into my distribution
using the /integrate option. The patch reports successful integration but
when I run an unattended install I get the following error

Setyp was unable to copy the following file:

WINSRV.DLL

If I ignore the file ( not that I really want to do this ) it goes on to
fail on WIN32K.SYS

Any ideas?

An update on this.

It seems to slipstream and install OK for an interactive install from a
bootable CD but fails for an unattended install

An update on this, if I slipstream it and write a bootable CD it works fine
for an interactive install.

For writing to an ISO9660 I had to rename the update file and modify
svcpack.inf to reflect the new name as by default it integrates with a long
filename.

It still doesn't work for an unattended install which is the bulk of what we
do :(

Even though it completes the install and is shown in Add/Remove Programs,
Windows Update still offers it to the machine, MBSA makes a better job.
Still to see what WSUS makes of it.

Unattended Setup WINSRV.DLL Copy Problem

We are having this issue, too. Have you made any headway on resolving this issue?

We've tried to put the DLL and the previos version of the DLL in various locations throughout the network share, and have had no luck.

Let me know if you have any insights.
