KB835732 Security Update

I've been looking everywhere for how to stop this pesky
critical update from refusing to recognise that it's
already been installed (umpteen times!) to my XP home SP1
system. I thought the problem had gone away, but it's back
again today - the auto update icon's even refusing to
close at the moment.

Can anyone help, please?
