I can download this patch, but when the installation
process starts, my computers crash. Everytime. This
happens on both of my XP Home Edition computers. I have
disabled my firewall and anti-virus programs. I cannot
post the KB824146.log file as it does not exist on either
machine. Anyone else experience this? Any
suggestions/solutions?

I would watch the newsgroup to wait and see if they fix
the patch as I couldn't access the internet after loading
it.
