Kazaa signature

Hi

On every network/community with young people there are
now rumours about MSAS.

Do NOT install it....!

Is it MS obligation to delete p2p files ?

I really do not think this is a good way to wipe out these
files,
this is something for our goverments and jurisdiction.
Young people must trust MS, a lot of rumours also about SP2,
you can´t use your PC etc etc after installing SP2.

Signature 5693 - Investigation
5695 - Wipe them away, no warning.

IMHO

I'll try to check this out, Plun--This seems an unlikely change--the trend
has been to treat Kazaa more carefully over time--the original
recommendation was remove, and I believe that has gone all the way to
ignore--but I'll do some testing. I don't think they would reverse
this--maybe there's a bug.....

I've just installed kazaa and allowed everthing it asked about and allowed
everything Micrsoft antispyware tried to block.

I checked that my definitions were at 5695.

I ran a full deep scan.

It detected 13 threats. For Kazaa and Grokster, the default was Quarantine.
For the other 11, the default was remove. I've done a run at the defaults,
and the VPC is now rebooting.

I didn't do a real good test of qarantine--only 70 or so files in the shared
folder--I'll try to put some more there for a better test.

However, I don't see any sign that 5695 has changed the Kazaa detection or
recommendations.

Hi

I do believe we have a "BUG" within Kaaza removals.
I have seen it myself with signature 5695.

Kaaza itself is not spyware !

That's why they have it classed as "under investigation." It certainly
bundles adware, and some of that adware is not as visible on the surface or
removable as it ought to be--some comes in after the original install.

Did you take a look at Bulldog Antivirus? I can only recall seeing a
handful of posts about this. I have no idea whether it works or is
reputable, but the way it is bundled certainly doesn't give me any
confidence, and the pricing scheme seems designed to drive folks away.

Hi

Bulldog and Kazaa ???

Nevretheless I trust every partner to MS for virusdetection:

BullGuard is correct. Somehow, their crossing out a price of $9.99 and
pencilling in $72/year with the added benefit of a 500 meg backup space
doesn't make me want to go out and hit the "buy" button. Strange marketing
tactics. Looking at their web site, perhaps what I am reading as 9.99 is
supposed to read 89.99. Still--I have no interest in the backup space and
this is overpriced for the protection.
