Kaspersky Anti Virus

Installed a MSAccess program today using the Runtime and couldn't get it
past the switchboard. I've never had this problem before but after a while
discovered that my client had installed Kaspersky Anti Virus last week.
When I "turned off" Kaspersky no problem. Anyone else experienced this
problem.

Have worked out this problem. In case anyone else experiences this:

Uncheck "Enable real-time VBA macros monitoring" in the "Configure real-time
protection" option, Macros tab).

Well done for posting back. It looks like this is defitely something
that people using Access VBA should be aware of. It probably affects
VBA in other Office components, as well; eg. Word.

Thanks again Di.

If anyone else reading this thread, knows of any other antivirus
products or settings that cause problems with an Access application,
please add them to this thread, so we have a general reference!

Cheers,

Well my general rule, is I switch off on-access scanning of any folders with
MDB's in them, or just exclude MDB's from on Access scanning.

Products I use are

Mcafee and Trend

(I hate all virus scanners, but they are required : ( )

But the question is, what are the people who install my product, doing?
I don't have access to their PCs, so I can not check what they are
doing.

It would be great if all such products exposed some kind of read-only
flag in the registry, to say that VBA had been disabled. Then, my
install program could display an appropriate warning screen. (Pigs will
fly, methinks ...)

Cheers,
TC
