Jvc GZMG35 conection problems

-- When I hook up my GZMG35 video camera to my laptop it is recognized when
it is turned on. However I can not find it under “My Computerâ€. It does
connect viva USB port. I can see it in the “Device Manager†under a USB hub.
It says though that the drivers are not installed. I can’t find drivers
for it at the JVC website; the CD with the camera only has the program to
edit videos. Cyber Link the software maker say they don’t load the drivers
on the CD. JVC says they don’t do software for the camera. Any ideas on
what to do?
thank you

If it's recognised, (as you say it is), in "My Computer" - then it should be
there in plain view ! You're probably just not looking in the right place,
or you're looking straight at it but, don't know what you're looking at !

Most digital cameras when connected, (for example), by USB lead, (or camera
memory card adaptor for USB port), are detected by XP as a "mass storage
device" and automatically assigned the next available driver letter, unless
of course that "make everything even easier for me with all this crap on a
CD that came with my camera," has been shoved into your PC's cd/dvd drive,
and the software on it has been installed into your XP platform and is
interfering with the normal workings of XP !!!

Use Windows Explorer and click on the drive letter that appears when the
camera is connected and switched on, (and depending on the camera design you
may also need to select "PC Mode" or similar feature in the camera
software), or memory card adaptor is plugged in, you should see a directory
labelled DCIM (digital camera interface module).

When I say it is recongnized I mean that in the Device manager you see that
the USB hub knows that there is something connected but it does not say what
it is...It does not know that it is a USB mass storage..It just says No
drivers are installed for this device.
