JVC GRDVM 5U cannot save auto

Every time I try to transter from my JVC to my computer in
teh automatic whole tape mode it freeezes during taransfer
in the computer and does not transfer
 
Does it work if you manually capture from pieces of the tape? Do you have a
constantly resetting timecode on the tape?
