Hello everybody,

I can write with no problem in microsoft.test, but in several french
groups, I am answered that the newsgroup from which I downloaded a
hundred messages does not exist.

I am sorry to appear out of matter, perhaps this will not be sent, I
should like to be sure ...

So, I can write here.
Oh well, I am going to type that message again, in English this time.

While reading news from Google, I saw an error message telling that
there was an incorrect character at line 2, character 7.

So I got curious, and had a look.
The source began like that :
<html>
<head>
<title>LEXPRESS.fr - LEXPRESS Info - Infos du jour</title>
<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=iso-8859-1">

So it appears that according to IE6 it is incorrect to begin a page with
the HTML and HEAD tags. Is not that somewhat surprising_?

In fact, IE6 detects an incorrect character at position 7, on a line
that has only 6 characters_: that is even more interesting.

Precisely I have to tell you the original page began with <html><head>
on the same line, and an empty line before, I modified that and saved it
locally -same result. Mozilla sees nothing wrong.

In case you want to improve your french learning some news about afghan
traffic, here is the address, not sure it helps a lot to learn about HTML.
