Just installed Windows XP and I am getting the message below when

I try to back up anything to my D drive. The message is: "Windows cannot
load device driver for this hardware. The driver may be
corrupted or missing (code 39)", when trying to write to your D drive of
your Windows XP based computer.
I was trying to back up my quicken and it now says that D drive is not
accessible. I also tried to save files to D and it won't do that either.

Any ideas how to correct?

Select Start, Control Panel, Administrative Tools, Computer Management,
Disk Management. What information is given regarding your D drive?

Try running HD Tune(freeware).

Download and run it and see what it turns up.
http://www.hdtune.com/

Select the Info tabs and place the cursor on the drive under Drive
letter and then double click the two page icon ( copy to Clipboard )
and copy into a further message.

Select the Health tab and then double click the two page icon ( copy
to Clipboard ) and copy into a further message. Also do a full surface
scan with HD Tune.

Hope this helps.

In HD Tune on the Health Tab in the top left of the window is a box with
a scroll bar. You need to scroll down and select the second drive to
display the information.

Is there a reason for having the first drive formatted as FAT32?
