Just did a clean install

Did the clean install, reloaded Norton and its updates, did all windows
updates and service pack 2. After doing all of this the system started
shutting down just like it did before the clean install. HELP!!!!!!!!!

When you reinstalled Windows XP clean - did you remain disconnected from the
internet UNTIL you had at least the Windows Firewall enabled?

Have you considered the possibility of hardware failure?

You are probably getting infected with one the 'blaster' virus variants
before you can even install you patches (or SP2). Here is the thing to do.

1) Disconnect your internet connections (network cable or modem)
2) Do another clean install of windows xp
3) Turn the firewall on before connecting to the internet.
4) Connect to the internet, and install sp2
