I'm going crazy here! My computer won't run Xp because of
unmountable boot volume, but I cant do anything to fix it
cause NONE of the start up options work (safe mode, last
good config, etc.) Also, the computer wont boot from the
satrtup cd, and I even found an old Win98 floppy to try
to run from, but no good. It just always goes back to the
error page! I even fiddled with the cables inside, so see
if any where loose, but that looks fine too. I am willing
to admit defeat, and completely reformat the drive/wipe
every thing clean, but I can't even get that to work! Am
I ruined?! *sad face*

Did you follow EVERYTHING in my last post?

If you did, swap the CD-ROM and hard drive IDE (flat ribbon) cables.

If you have or can borrow another hard drive that can help determine
if the hard drive is at fault.

http://cquirke.mvps.org/pccrisis.htm refers, as this mileage casts
doubts on hardware viability (which means any attempt to "just
re-install" could be a disasterous waste of time)
