junk email

All of a sudden I am getting 45 junk emails per day. Additionally I have
them marked as junk but they continue to go into my in box. They do get
marked for deletion, but I have to purge to delete them. (1)What would cause
me to suddenly get these (2)how do I get them to go directly to junk mail
folder. Thank you

Outlook has no way to mark a message as junk. The junk mail filter is
untrainable. You can add a sender to the Blocked Senders list, but that's
not the same as marking a mail message as junk.

Adding a sender to the Blocked Senders list is nearly pointless because junk
mail senders constantly change the sender address, so it's rare to receive
multiple junk messages from the same sender.

Then you are using an IMAP account. If the messages get marked for
deletion, then the only thing you can do to hide them is to choose the "Hide
Messages Marked for Deletion" view.

Do you download the entire message or just the headers?
