Jump Drive is hidden by network drive

K

Kyle Petersen

When I plug in my jump drive it recieves the same drive letter as one of my
mapped drives but with an _ . For an example my I have two partitions drives
C and D. My Cd-rom is drive E. I have various mapped drives (one being F)
to my business' network and one of them is F. For some reason insteda of
finding an open drive my XP is giving the jump dirve a drive letter of F_.
Any ideas.

Thanks

This is why it is recommended that you give network drives letters in
the middle like m/n/o or at the end w/x/y instead of in the middle,
windows just plain old doesn't know what to do, if it is not a huge
deal, I would remap your drives to a little farther down the alphabet.
Or you'll have to use computer management to change the drive letter of
your usb drive every time you plug it in.
