JPGs distorted in IE

The graphics in IE are distorted; they are blured and not
crisp. I recently reformated my hard drive and reloaded
Windows XP, but that did not solve the problem. I have
installed all updates to XP and IE 6.0. I really would
like to get this cleaned up. My Dell Dimension 8200
works great otherwise.
