Broken GIFs and JPGs in Windows XP and IE

I have a new Dell Latitude D610 (right out of the box)...running XP
Pro. The graphics (GIFs, JPGs and HTML text) in Windows and IE (and any
MS program) appear "chunky" and broken. Nothing that I can figure out
related to settings seems to have any effect. Everything in Firefox
looks great though. Any thoughts?

I wish I could add a solution to your problem, but it seems like we are
the only people right now that are discussing this. I am having the
exact same issue with a new latitude d610 and am surprised that there
aren't more people discussing this. Firefox renders graphics
perfectly, windows and IE are very coarse, chunky, pixelated you name
it. If anyone out there has a solution I'm sure a lot of folks would
be happy.

Problem Solved

new dell and graphics look pixelated; like gifs or jpegs in web pages and even the "turn off" red button on the start menu

it has to do with the DPI under advanced display settings

email me if you have any other questions: (e-mail address removed)
