PowerPoint Distorting in Live Meeting

I posted this on the Live Meeting board but they don't seem to be as active
as here ...and the question overlaps between PPT or LM so I though I would
give it a shot here too!

Recently we have been having issues with PowerPoint presentations distorting
or having objects move around while being used in Live Meeting.

One client has a presentation with jpgs inserted that are being pulled and
distorted and another Live Meeting that we were involved in had arrows (drawn
in PPT) that moved and tables (native PPT) that had columns collapse on top
of each other and move text around.

Has anyone else run into any issues such as these and if so have you been
successful at solving them?

We are going to try some tests in the coming weeks and one of the things I
was going to try as a variable was the screen ration. PPT defaults to On
Screen Show (4:3) but we have 16:9 and 16:10 to choose from as well. I'm not
holding out a ton of hope that it will work...but it is all I've got right
now!

Are you uploading slides to Live Meeting, or are you using application or
desktop sharing?

I've heard of issues with LM, but I can't remember what they are -- mostly
to do with transparency, I thought, but other issues wouldn't exactly
surprise me. (I'm not a big LM fan. But I'm also not a WebEx fan, either.
And I've been out of this specific webcast area for too long to know about
all the other options! I do like GoToMeeting, but I'm always just sharing my
desktop in it....)

Anyway, I was going to ask about slide ratio, but I'd bet LM is set up for 4
x 3 in general for uploaded stuff. I have a LM account -- if I can get it
set up, I am happy to take a look and see what we can figure out.

I'm not generally the person that deals w/ LM but came across the issue w/ a
client and then talked about it with the two people on my team that use it
quite often and they added their issues to the mix.

My other team members have tested using PowerPoint in Live Meeting both ways
(application and desktop sharing) and the issues they had were consistent no
matter which they used... I'm not sure of the exact conditions our client was
using them under.

Using a different webcast option isn't on the table. We used to use WebEx
but when the company upgraded from Office 2000 to 2007 they went with
Microsoft products across the board (LM, Communicator, Sharepoint, etc.) so
we are stuck with it.

I'll poke around a bit more and see if I can eliminate some of the variables
and come up with some ideas of why it is happening and when!

Thanks!

Hm. Jpgs and arrow shapes and collapsing tables. Sounds like a nightmare!
Keep us posted.
