Hello

I have a .ppt file created with PowerPoint 2003 that contains math
equations. When I view the file using PowerPoint 2007 the math equations are
all distorted (blurred)and impossible to read. Any help will be greatly

How were the equations created? Equation Editor, MathType, other
software? Did you create them or someone else?

The equations were create by a faulty member at my
institution using MAthType

Sean, if you'll send me a slide or two privately, I'll take a
look and see if I can find out what's causing the problem.

Now when I am opening this file in my machine, all the images gets distort. In the laptops and windows 2000 server, it is working fine but not on other machines. Please let me know about the problem and the solution.

MathType uses special fonts for its symbols. It sounds as though these fonts aren't installed on your
computer but they are on your laptops and server.

Do you have Office with PowerPoint on your computer, or are you using the free Viewer to view the PPS?

If you have Office, try re-running SETUP and choose a Custom install.
One of the options will be to install Equation Editor (a baby-version of MathType).
Choose that option, change nothing else and let the setup complete.
That will add Equation Editor (and with luck, the same fonts as MathType uses) to your computer and (again
with luck) the equations will look correct.

The main font MathType uses is MTExtra, and although Equation
Editor also uses a font with the same name, the MathType version
has many more symbols. So Steve is right; it sounds like a font
issue. You can download the MathType fonts for free from our
website, at the URL in my signature. There's a link to the font
download on the right side of the home page.
