JPG Files as Attachment in Windows Mail

Dear Sir(s),

After downloading Internet Explorer 8, I cannot open any JPG attachment
directly from any message in my windows mail.

It gives the error message that windows cannot find the specified file,
whereas it is attached in the mail and I am trying to open directly from mail.

With Internet Explorer 7 this was not the case and I can open any type of
file directly from mail.

Can anyone suggest me what is the problem? It seems some setting issue with
Internet Explorer 8 !!

Regards

What anti-virus application or security suite is installed, is your
subscription current, and is it supported in IE8? What anti-spyware
applications (other than Defender)? What third-party firewall (if any)?
Were any of these applications running in the background when you installed
IE8?

Has a Norton or McAfee application ever been installed on this machine
(e.g., a free-trial version that came preinstalled when you bought it)?

Just asking for now!! Do NOT use such a Restore Point yet!! => Do you have
an available Restore Point which predates the install of IE8?

Welcome to the Club! <eg>
You are bitten by a bug which affects many (though not all) systems
after installing IE8.

As Peter already said there is no fix - except uninstalling IE8.

However, the problems can be reduced to JPG and TXT files (all other
files types opening fine) with a workaround:
Right-click on the shortcut that you use to open Windows Mail.
Select Properties.
In the field labeled 'Start in' change the entered value to
%UserProfile%.
Click OK.
Restart Windows Mail and try opening attachments.

JPG and TXT can be opened after saving them.
I for one can love with that (until the mysteries if this bug have been
unrevealed).
