Cannot send email with Jpeg attachment. Have tried other ideas in similar
posts. System message is that server timed out. I extended to 2 minutes. Any
ideas?

Do you have a slow internet connection? Dial up?

Are the image files several MBs each?

Do you resize the images before e-mailing them?

I also cannot send photos, even smaller ones using Windows Live Mail. I
also tried to send a PDF file and it wouldn't go. I get the same
message..."your server has timed-out". Never got this with Outlook Express.
I do have dial-up, by the way.

Some antivirus programs still process (and delay) emails even when
scanning is disabled. Which antivirus is it?

My antivirus is Trend Micro

Your problem is most likely caused by your antivirus.
Trend Micro antivirus is among the top three troublemakers for Windows Mail.
First, go into its settings and disable any interaction with email, then try
Windows Mail again. If no improvement, do a trial uninstall.

Another option (instead of uninstalling Trend Micro) is to upgrade to
Windows Live Mail, which is more resistant to the adverse effects of
overly intrusive antivirus products: http://get.live.com/wlmail/overview
