recently we got some laptops (fujitsu-siemens with winxp pro loaded
with sp2) and when we try to join domain it fails saying it doesn't
find the domain; the only change that we made on the server (long back)

changing the IP series; we've got 20-25 users; DC is with AD,DNS/DHCP
etc.. what could be the reason?! existing workstations are ok; help
greatly appreciated

When entering the Domain name are you using the Netbios name (MYDOMAIN)
name or the fqdn (mydomain.local)

I've found sometimes when trying to add new workstations to a domain
they can't find the domain if the fqdn is used (probably a DNS issue)
