Job Share mailbox

Is there a way for 2 users to have one mailbox they can access as part of a
job share via their own AD logon account. We use Outlook 2000.

Ideally could the jobsharers access the same Outlook mailbox. Idea being
that the jobsharers would be seen as one person as they are working and
responding from one mailbox. Therefore all meeting requests will go to this
mailbox for both to be able to see and respond to. Also any reminders set
will activate when either open the mailbox. Public folders does not allow
for this type of functionality.
Any ideas on this gratefully received?

with Exchange Server or without?

Without Exchange and if you use Outlook 2000 in IMO Mode , you could use an
IMAP account:
