JetAudio 5.0 question

Hi folks.

Not sure where else to ask this question: if there's a better place,
let me know, because I only see talk of JetAudio in this news group
(and this is actually the place where I found about about JetAudio).
If I try clicking on a RealPlayer stream on my Windows 2000 server,
JetAudio complains that its "skin is damaged" and wants me to pick a
new skin. I click OK, pick one of the skins and then it continues on,
but never loads the file. If I do a right-click on the file, then do a
save as and then open the resulting file, JetAudio works fine (no error
message about skin and it plays the streaming file just fine).
JetAudio works fine on my Windows XP machine. Wondering if someone
else has ran into the same problem.

This Windows 2000 server is used by my parents and I'm trying to make
it easy on them to use (don't ask why they are using a 2000 server,
long story). I put on RealPlayer 8 and it hijacked all of the file
associations. I had to install it so my mom could listen to the audio
stream and then I removed it. I absolutely HATE Real Player and I want
to replace it with something that will play Real Audio streams without
a problem. I've also converted RA files to WAV so we could play them
without Real Player, but it's a bit of a pain for me to keep doing that
for each file they want to listen to.

Thanks,
Adam

Why not reset RP to associate ONLY with ra files? Just
uncheck ALL other files.
I'm not familiar with JetAudio and don't like XP AT ALL!

Well, that would be fine, but RealPlayer doesn't honor MY settings! I
can re-associate MP3 files to play with Winamp and then RealPlayer
will re-associate them with itself, even if I tell it NOT to do so!
I'm quite skilled in computers, so this isn't a case of an ID10T
error. Any ways, I found a program called Real Alternative 1.01 at
http://fileforum.betanews.com/ and it works on XP and 2000 server! I
never ever have to install RealPlayer again, thank God!
