I had this problem yesterday. The Sun Java messed me up
too. Go to Microsoft VM. It worked.

Can I now delete the Sun Java programs?
 
not sure how java messed you up, it's much better the ms
java, but after you remove in control panel, if there's
files left, try to delete in safe mode. you may find your
system doesn't work quite right after. make a restore
point.
