Java in Vista

I have Vista Premium. I am trying to run Java based games and apps such as
Yahoo Games and my Java does not seem to work. i installed the Java v6 jdk
for Vista and still nothing. Are there any extra configurations I need to be
aware of? I went through some of the documentation but it is very long and
exhaustive; trying to find the answer is tough. If it should work with the
default configuration then I ask, is anyone else having this problem?

When you installed the JDK, did you also allow the JRE to be installed?
I have the Java 6 JDK (and JRE) installed on Vista Ultimate here, and I'm
having no issues with Java-enabled web pages or with compiling and executing
Java code submitted by students. Perhaps if you were to provide a link to
the Yahoo games that are causing you a problem, we could try them to either
confirm an issue with the games or an issue with your PC.
