Japanese IME

I have just downloaded the Japanese IME. I can switch languages to Japanese but only seen to be able to type in Katakana. Does anyone know how to switch to Hiragana??
 
Click the icon with the Kana character in the language tool bar, this will give you a pop-up menu with various selections, including hiragana.
