Japanese IME does not type in webpage

Monika

My Japanese IME does not allow me to input any Japanese
text in a text field inside Internet Explorer. IME works
perfectly fine in Word and Outlook Express (and even in
the address bar of IE), but when the text field is in a
webpage, I can only input English letters with no option
to convert to kana.

If it helps at all, this occured shortly after my
computer was infected with the "lsassexe"(?) virus. The
virus has been purged already.

I would uninstall and reinstall either IME or IE, but I
don't know how to on WinXP. Any help will be appreciated.
