I've lost my volume control

Whenever I load Volume Control, I can't see it. I've tried using the Move
command in the right click menu when it's running in the task bar and all
that does is give me the move cursor in my upper left hand corner, and I can
even use my cursor keys to adjust the balance of the master volume. But I
can't see the damn thing and it's starting to irritate me. Anyone got a
solution for me?

Have you looked within the Control Panel and enabled this feature
within Sound and Audio devices?

yes I have with the same results.

Find SNDVOL32.exe on the computer or extract it from the XP CD and
copy it to the System32 folder.

If this fails, then re-post.

maybe I should be more clear. i can see that the prog is running in the
taskbar and task manager, I see the icon in the system tray, BUT I CAN'T SEE
THE PROGRAM IT SELF. I get no window whatsoever. That's my problem
