I've Lost my CD Drive

Not very good at the technical side of computers. My PC is
used by all in my home and somehow my 10 year old son has
managed to do 'something' to the cd rom drive. It is still
installed in the computer but when I checked the Device
Manager it now has one of those lovely big exclamation
marks beside it.

Have tried all the usual stuff (troubleshooter) but can't
seem to find out the problem. It says'Your registry might
be corrupted. (Code 19)' don't know what this means but
would be grateful for any help.
