CD-rom drive

my cd-rom has stopped working, tried to re-install and the computer finds it
but cannot complete the install because of somthing in the registry has
changed( CODE 19) or corrupt , how do I fix this one??

Boot into Safe Mode, open Device Manager, delete/remove all CD-ROM drives
you find, reboot and Windows will re-detect.

thanks jerry, but that didn't work, this is what it says:
WINDOWS CANNOT START THIS DEVICE BECAUSE IT"S CONFIGURATION( IN THE REGISTRY
) IS INCOMPLETE OR DAMAGED, ( CODE 19 )
