It doesn't get any better apparently

I-Hate-VISTA

I've been dealing with this horrendous excuse for an email program for about
2 months now (thus my display name!) . . . my new computer came with Home
Premium VISTA

I'm seriously thinking of getting my old original copy of XP installed back
in my computer at some point. I'd do it myself, but I want to make sure I
don't lose anything in the process. I've lost enough because of this fiasco
already.

1) I can no longer use a rather expensive program that I bought to build web
sites for small businesses (so therefore this also had a direct impact on my
income as well as my frustration level). It won't work with Windows VISTA
(because it's not a Microsoft product, of course).

2) I receive most email, but I have to check the spam folder constantly --
since I work online from home, and receive a good bit of business email at
home that will often contain links, etc., VISTA reads it as "phishing" email
and dumps it. And some it seems to dump in there for absolutely no reason at
all.

3) I belong to several business and social groups that keep in touch via
email -- one group has more than 100 members -- others as few as 15. In one
group, we share graphic designs or new stationery for use within the group.
Well, I can't share those things with anyone anymore . . . Windows Mail/VISTA
absolutely will not send an email with stationery and quite often will not
send to a large group.

4) And there are the emails that it won't send for apparently no reason --
I've tried to pay attention to what triggers this -- I can have 3 or 4 emails
go out with no problem, and then the next 6-8 will just sit there in the
Outbox. I end up copying and pasting them into a Gmail account to get them
sent. One the other day was going only to my son -- there were no links in
it, no photos -- nothing but a 2 or 3 line message. It should have gone, but
didn't.

I'm so sick of this, I could scream. I've had to create new email accounts
for both personal and business use on Gmail instead of using my own email
program. You can's use stationery on those free email accounts either, but I
can at least send graphics and send to large groups if I need to.
Interesting -- I PAID for VISTA and it has caused me nothing but grief; the
free email program at Gmail works properly at least, even with creative
limitations.

I am assuming that VISTA was supposed to cut down on spam -- it's the only
excuse I can come up with for creating something so non-user-friendly. Well,
I'm tired of people trying to protect me from spam -- I am very well aware of
how the delete button works, how to install a firewall, and how to buy a good
virus protection program.

I have downloaded the VISTA updates, which I assume are supposed to fix all
these bugs . . . but they don't.

I don't know about anyone else, but my next computer will be a MAC. I'm
already "studying" my options.

MICROSOFT -- you have really REALLY ticked a lot of people off this time.
I'm so tired of being your guinea pig. After all -- it's not like this is
the first time. You also produced that piece of garbage known as Windows ME
a few years ago -- again, right when I was buying a new computer. That was
such a disaster that it was on the market for only what . . . a year maybe?

Do your beta tests on your own corporate computers before you start forcing
them down our throats. We should not have to pay for the privilege of
testing your programs for you -- it's absolutely unconscionable that you
continue to do this.

There -- I feel MUCH better, now. :-(

You should ensure any pre-owned software / hardware is compatible before
buying a PC with a new version o/s.

Windows Mail like Outlook Express is designed primarily for personal use,
therefore it has limitations. You could try MS Live Mail - I haven't used
it - Or purchase a dedicated mail application

As far as I can tell, no one from Microsoft has read this newsgroup in the
last few months. It's run by volunteers who occasionally get a title, but
no
paying job, from Microsoft.

Where can we get through to Microsoft?

Windows Mail is dead as far as Microsoft is concerned.
If you upgrade to Windows Live Mail, you get access to product support and
feedback here: https://support.live.com/default.aspx?mkt=en-us

I've seen a few sites listed where you can probably get them to read your
complaint, but probably not respond.
