Issues installing Service Packs on XP Professional version 2002

I'm trying to load service packs onto my system and it won't let me. I am
running XP professional 2002. When I downloaded service pack 2 it gave me an
error message of... ""The expected version of this product was not found on
your system." So I reinstalled XP and tried to start over again with service
pack 1 - I got the same message.

Help....

You are talking about Windows XP Service Packs, not Office Service Packs,
correct?

Are you using the Windows Update site or did you actual download the SP2
file to your hard drive and then use it to install the service patch?

It almost sounds like you're downloading Office service packs. XP
Professional is just XP Professional, not version 2002. Microsoft Office XP
is version 2002. The service packs for one are not used on the other.

Here is a download link for the full SP2 service pack. Burn it to CD, or
order the SP2 CD.

Download Windows Service Pack 2 Standalone Version
