Issue with folder contents automatically refreshing

I am having a strange problem with one of the folders that is stored within
my "My Pictures" folder. I have created a general dumping folder for when I
first download images off of my digital camera, which I then go through and
edit, sort, and move into their own spaces. The issue that I'm having lately
is that the folder continuously seems to be refreshing it's contents. When
viewing in filmstrip it causes the folder to blink, and then it goes back to
the first image in the folder; sometimes while I'm in the middle of editing a
different folder. If I'm in thumbnail view, I will have multiple items
selected and then the folder will blink and refresh itself, and all of my
selections are gone. It happens about every 10 seconds, and is only happening
in this one folder. I have gone in and reset everything to it's default
settings, but it doesn't seem to be helping. Does anyone know how I can fix
this issue?

Thanks!!

I am having this issue as well, only it happens in ALL of my folders. It
seems to happen at somewhat regular intervals. It's very annoying if
you're selecting things in a big list, or trying to keep track of new
files added to the bottom of a folder. Also very annoying if you're
trying to mass copy items from one folder to another. Any ideas on the
CAUSE of this?

Maybe this:

As a test, try changing to "List" view. Also try increasing the icon
cache size.
