I had installed software (SUN Java community edition and
Forte for Java 4 on my D: drive. I removed the software
via the ADD or REMOVE programs option. All was fine upto
this point. Due to a virus problem, I had to RESTORE to a
previous week's restore point.

Now the software (Sun Java and Forte) are still showing
on my ADD or Remove program List. However when I attempt
to remove it, it appears to remove but nothing happens,
for the Java 1.4 it states, 'file could not be located'.

Is there a way to fix this problem?

Thanks
RV

Hi RV,

To remove the uninstalled programs from the Add/Remove Programs listing,
open the registry editor (Start>Run key in regedit then click on OK or hit
ENTER) and navigate to:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE>SOFTWARE>Microsoft>Windows>CurrentVersion>Uninstall
Expand the Uninstall key, and locate the invalid items under this key. When
found, right-click on each, then choose Delete.

Regards,

Another way to do it is to install the software again,
and then uninstall it. This will also remove registry
entries that are not under that particular key.
