issue downloading anything

Im using XP pro Sp2 - IE7

The issue I have is when I download anything, rather than dowloading from
Explorer it goes straight into a another program (BitCommet) I prefer it the
other way as I like to save any important exe programs to a folder so I can
burn to disc incase of a reformat or crash etc.

Is there a reason for this happening and can I change it

it sounds like someone on your computer has downloaded the bitcommet
download manager and set it to use for all downloads. the easiest way to
stop it is just to uninstall bin commet or try looking for an options menu.

There is probably an option in BitComet as to whether or not it handles all
downloads or catches clicks from a web browser.
Does bit BitComet have an IE add-on, (look under Tools>Manage add-ons in
IE7), or is it completely separate?

You should probably look at the BitComet site for these answers.

Thanks for the reply Matt

Its my son that uses BitComet, I looked at the preferences and couldnt
figure it out. Dont think there is any point in unstalling and reinstalling
as the defaults will still be there, if you know what I mean

Dobey - IE only has BitComet Search and helper nothing else
