isolating one audio track

I have a recording with two separate audio channels recorded -- I used an
external microphone along with the camera's internal device. Now I would like
to be able to isolate each channel, and just use the better of the two. The
..wmv file is stereo, but I can't seem to figure out how to view both channels
separately within movie-maker, nor how to mute just one of them so as to use
the other. Any suggestions?

MM won't do this, so load the audio into something like Audacity and use
that to make two files, one for each track and then import both into movie
maker and use the parts you require from each, or just the one or other.
