iso dvd not starting / installing

I downloaded the rc1 release iso yesterday (took 8 hours on cable) and simply
burned that file AS IS

filename:
vista_5600.16384.060829-2230_x86fre_client-lr1cfre_en_dvd

Content:
README.TXT (root) and boot.images folder with one file, no_emul.00

Nothing happens when the cd is inserted. Why?

I burned this on MAC laptop by the way as I have no dvd burner on my system.

You can't just burn the file as is. You have to use the "Burn CD/DVD from
image" or similar using your CD/DVD burning software. This should ask for
the location of a .iso file, then point to the Vista .iso image you
downloaded.
