dvd not starting up

I downloaded the rc1 release iso yesterday (took 8 hours on cable) and simply
burned that file AS IS

filename:
vista_5600.16384.060829-2230_x86fre_client-lr1cfre_en_dvd

Content:
README.TXT (root) and boot.images folder with one file, no_emul.00

Nothing happens when the cd is inserted. Why?

I burned this on MAC laptop by the way as I have no dvd burner on my system.

You seriously need to stop spamming this question, it will not get you a
reply any quicker, you just need to wait for somebody that actually knows the
answer to reply, thanks

First all mr. atittude I did NOT spam the question. The system kept telling
me that it did not go through and there was an error that has been notified
to the Opreator. Thanks anyway for your stupid assumption.

Did You actually burn it as an image? The ISO is an image of the disc,so if
you burned a data cd with that file,it cant boot like it should.

That's usually a false error and your post actually goes through anyway. Most
people that are new to the group have doen it once or twice before they
figure out what is going on. No harm done..Now children back to your corners.

As far as your dvd problem, you can't burn the .iso 'as-is' you have to burn
the image to DvD. No idea how to do this on a Mac tho...Think of an iso as a
zip file..the computer can't use it while it is still compressed.

ISO is a standard disk image format though, so I can't imagine Mac not being
able to burn iso images, though I have no idea what software you would need
