Hi there,

Where I can found ISA 2000 trial. I checked Microsoft website but there is
only option to download new 2003 trial and I need old one.

Thanks,

Why do you need a trial version of the older product? Generally the only
trials we release are those for current products, not previous releases.

We wanted to test ISA server and eventually switch from SQUID.
We installed ISA 2003 on Win2K_SP4 and from first moment getting nothing
than popup error messages:

"An error has occured in script on this page"
Line:72
Char:5
Error: 'Undefined' undefined
Code: 0
URL: file://C:\ Program Files\Microsoft ISA Server\UI_HTMLs\generic.html

And so on so on, same message dozen of times.

We thought maybe ISA 2003 is designed with W2K3 in mind and all our Win
servers now are W2K_SP4. So maybe we should give I try to ISA2000 just to see
what overall performance and behaviour is and eventually buy ISA2003 once new
W2K3 servers arrive later this year.

Thanks,

Well, there's no such thing as ISA Server 2003... the current version is
2004. Seems silly, but I spend a lot of time in Asia and have seen plenty of
fake Microsoft products in the markets... you do in fact have ISA Server
2004, correct? ;)

ISA Server 2004 will run on Windows 2000 Server SP4 just fine. You also need
IE 6 on the computer, and should apply
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;821887 too.

I'm wondering if there's something wrong with your download -- is that the
demo you have? Maybe you could download a fresh copy from
http://www.microsoft.com/isaserver/evaluation/trial/ and see if that will
work for you.

Hmmm,

I cannot setup ftp, not allowed. Can you monitor this thread for day or two,
until I figure what to do. At the and you can always burn cd and I can pay
for expenses I guess.
Where are you? I am in Vancouver, Canada.

Please don't do that.

Aurelio, I don't believe your problem has anything to do with your choice of
OSes for the trial. Please make sure that you've installed SP4 on Windows
2000 and also the hotfix I referenced. Download a fresh copy of the ISA
Server 2004 eval and let me know how it goes.

Hey Steve,

Just to inform you. I did clean install of W2K server + SP4 + all avaiable
patches. I installed ISA2004 Trial + small patch they released lately and
finally end up having same error messages as before. So you may say ISA
installatio is bad or my server is bad, but... I was not lazy. I installed
W2K3 Trial on same machine. Clean and patched. After that intstalled ISA2004
Trial (same installation as before). Guess what? It worked straight from the
box!
So it looks like ISA2004 didn't like W2K server for some to me uknown reason.

Folks think twice before you attempt to use ISA2004 on W2K server,
especially if that server is production server!

Aurelio, ISA Server 2004 Standard Edition is fully supported on Windows 2000
Server SP4. This is the first I've heard of this problem. I'll forward your
note to someone in the product group and have them contact you to find out
what's going on. You might have found a bug.

OK, I just noticed that you're using an email address I can't respond to.
Would you email me contact info so that we can work with you? Thanks.
