is word and office the same thing

I am going to school online. I need to know if word 2000xp and office xp the
same thing. I need to download word2000xp for my class.

Office is a suite of programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Access
(in some packages only)). If you only need Word then buying Word will be
less expensive, but if you think you might later need any of the others then
buying the suite is cheaper than buying the individual programs separately.
 
There is no such thing as word 2000xp
There is word 2000 and word 2002 (xp)
You cannot download, but you can buy
